What is a No Objection Certificate (NOC)?

A No Objection Certificate (NOC) is an official document issued by the RTO that confirms that:

  • The vehicle is not involved in any criminal case
  • The RTO has no objection to transferring the vehicle to another RTO/state

FAQs

Can I transfer my vehicle without an NOC?

No. An NOC is mandatory for transferring or re-registering a vehicle in another state. Without it, the new RTO will not process your registration or issue a new RC.

How long is a vehicle NOC valid?

A NOC is typically valid for 6 months from the date of issue. If not submitted to the destination RTO within this period, it becomes invalid, and a re-issue or cancellation may be required.

What happens if I lose my NOC?

You must apply for a duplicate NOC (re-issue) from the original RTO by filing an FIR and submitting a notarized affidavit along with other required documents. Friends RTO Consultancy can help with this process.

Can I cancel a NOC if I decide not to move or sell my vehicle?

Yes, you can apply for NOC cancellation at the issuing RTO if the NOC hasn’t been used. You’ll need to submit a request with an affidavit and proof that the NOC was not used at another RTO.

Can Friends RTO Consultancy help if I’ve already applied and my NOC is delayed?

Absolutely! We assist with follow-ups, document verification, and resolution of delays directly with RTO officials, ensuring your NOC is processed smoothly.

Is NOC required for transferring ownership within the same state?

In most cases, NOC is not needed for ownership transfers within the same state unless the transfer is happening between two different RTO jurisdictions. Always check with your current RTO or consult us for confirmation.

What if I have an active loan on my vehicle? Can I still get an NOC?

If your vehicle is under finance or loan, you must first get a loan clearance certificate from the financing company. Only after the hypothecation is removed from the RC can you apply for a valid NOC.

What is Form 28 and why is it needed for NOC?

Form 28 is the official application form for obtaining a No Objection Certificate from the RTO. It must be submitted along with supporting documents and fees to initiate the NOC process.

Do I need to visit the RTO in person to apply for a NOC?

Not necessarily. With the help of Friends RTO Consultancy, you can apply for a NOC without visiting the RTO yourself. We handle form submission, follow-ups, and document processing on your behalf.

What should I do after receiving the NOC?

Once you receive your NOC:
- Submit it to the destination RTO within the validity period (usually 6 months).
- Apply for re-registration or ownership transfer.
- Update your insurance and address documents accordingly.

What are the charges for NOC application through Friends RTO Consultants?

Our consultancy charges are affordable and transparent, based on your vehicle type, RTO jurisdiction, and urgency. Contact us for a quick quote and we'll walk you through the full pricing breakdown.
